About Classes

All of our classes are one hour long. We know that your time is important so we always start and finish on time. Though one hour long, we always include three important elements: a workout specific Warmup, a Strength / Skill session, and finally a Conditioning session. Classes consist of all ability levels; from the seasoned athlete to the beginner. Regardless of the different experience levels, classes are all inclusive and thorough instruction is given to everyone before and during each part of a class.

More About Warmups, Strength and Conditioning

Warmups:

Warmups are all workout specific and not cookie cutter. They include mobility, movement specific skill work and muscle activation / education. Many of the movements are adopted from the Physical Therapy world. We believe if an exercise is good to help heal an injury, then it is good to help prevent one also.

Strength:

At 978 Performance we love the Barbell. Strength training with weights is vital to overall health. Strong muscles and bones become increasingly more important as we age. With a proper coaching, training with weights is safe for all ages; Kids to Seniors and everyone in-between.

We adopt movements from the Weightlifting, Powerlifting, Strongman, Bodybuilding and the Functional Fitness worlds. We use barbells, dumbbells, kettle bells, medicine balls, Strongman Bags, ruck bags and many other implements. You will never get bored and your body will always be challenged in different ways to prevent plateaus.

Conditioning:

Conditioning, or more commonly known as cardio, is where we dig deep and sweat. Conditioning workouts are always different and never boring. No more chugging away on a machine for a minimum of 20 minutes just to check off the cardio box. Conditioning can be from 5 to 30 minutes long. Don’t let the short ones fool you, these are usually the most SPICY. The workouts consist of: Weights, (barbells, dumbbells, kettlebells etc…), Gymnastics, (Pull-ups, Jumping, Pushups or any other bodyweight movements), and Mono-structural movements, (Biking, Rowing, Jumping Rope, Running)
